CNY mood to feeling pensive.

So lazy with school related matters because i'm in the cny mood already. Haha. 3 days seem so short. I still can't believe NUS didn't make Monday a holiday or at least a half day for Thursday. What is this?!
:(

I went with my parents to collect the drinks we ordered from my workplace on Friday (there was staff sales). 17 cartons! Haha. Delivered my aunts' orders and those for 奶奶 to my grandparent's place. Lester collected his on Saturday because we went for the free massage again. This time we saw kids as young as about 7 years old?? Somehow this makes it less awkward to be in a sea of aunties and uncles. 拜拜, had sliced fish noodles for lunch and just chilled around. 夜市人生 had some event and 廖家仪 was there! She seemed really nice, joking, smiling and even hugging the long queue of people. We mainly just sat there looking at her hugging the people one by one. Haha. Wj also collected his drinks on Saturday. Carol came too! Feels as if I haven't seen her for so long! Talked for a bit before saying we'll meet up soon to visit cafes! ^^ Delivered another 2 cartons to my ahma on Sunday.

Came home yesterday to my mum who told me she injured herself while cleaning the fish tank. It was a pretty deep cut. (She made me peel off the plaster to look at her wound) Then she said she asked my sister for help, to read the descriptions on the zambuk cream and medicated oil so that she can decide which to apply. I don't know how the conversation exactly went, but my sister hurt my mum by saying, "You very mafan leh." Mummy teared while telling me about it. All I could do was to give her a comforting hug. Sigh. Guess we kids are like that uh, unknowingly hurt our mothers with harsh words which we may not mean but hurting nonetheless.

Came across a status posted by a friend on Facebook.

"Which is the lesser of two evils? Making parents angry OR making parents sad."

My cousin replied to that saying making them angry is the lesser of two evils. That's because sad lingers, anger doesn't. Anger dissipates after awhile. Another person commented that sometimes anger on the surface is a mask of sadness beneath that. Thus, it could be a compounded emotion. If I were to choose, I would also say making parents angry is the lesser of two evils. I agree with my cousin as parents simply do not remain angry with us forever. The anger would dissipate. That's family for you. But sadness is a different thing altogether. Say, there are times when my parents make me sad. And these are the times I remember the most and still feel hurt. Times when I was angry because of them? Most of it I wouldn't remember. And if I do, it would be like what the other person said - it's just a mask of sadness.

So really, if all of us cultivate the habit of thinking twice before saying anything in order to prevent hurting others without even knowing it, the world would definitely be a better place to live in.
