Last day of vacation.

Today marks the last day of my vacation period.
*big sigh*

Damn fast. Too fast. Why time always flies when you're having fun?

But this vacation was really a good one compared to the previous ones like the long hiatus from school after A Levels and the December break after Semester 1. This time it's much different because i managed to juggle between work and play. The long break after A Levels i was practically busy with work. Since i was doing office admin/accounts assistant work, there's no time to hang out with friends unless it's for dinner or else i'd have to apply for leave which is a tedious process. And then again, last time i was more of a couch potato. Even if people ask me out, if i'm too lazy or do not have the mood to hang out, i'll just come up with some excuse and stay at home instead. Lol. (oops) As for the December break..it was too short, so i didn't even bothered to work. Hahah. With the lack of income, of course i didn't meet up with a lot of people too.

Holidays for me usually means...
1. Watch all my favourite dramas/shows.
2. Go to the library to borrow as much books as possible!
3. Work, if i'm not lazy. Haha.
4. Bake!
5. Spend more time with family.

IKR, i sound so geeky/nerdy.

6. Meet up with people i like.

So yeah. I'm actually quite fussy when it comes to meeting up with people. If i think i wouldn't enjoy myself, or it'll just be awkward, or a waste of time/money, i wouldn't go. Super anti-social but yeah... Of course sometimes i would make exceptions thinking i should, you know, try to be a bit more sociable. But it's not easy at all....Haha.

The usual people i DIE DIE must meet during holidays would be of course the F2-2 clique! We always make the effort to meet at least once during the breaks because that's when most of us can afford to set aside time to hang out together. We met last year during May before University started, and also during December after the first Semester! And this break was no different. We met up and had almost full attendance! It's always 1 meet up per break, because it's so difficult to find a time where all 16 of us can make it. But it's good in the sense that it's constant and an unwritten rule that we have to meet up at least once during the break. It feels like this bond will continue for quite long. As long as someone takes the initiative to plan, i guess. Lol.

Aww, so heartwarming right?
:')
Can totally see who are the ones that are always present during gatherings too. Hahah!

And then there are other secondary school mates whom i would try to meet up too. Like Eelin and Carmen! Unlike the F2-2 clique whom i have been meeting up since sec 2, the 3 of us only went out together once in secondary school, and then to the USS during the break after A Levels, which thereafter we sort of form this threesome thing. Hahah.

Three's definitely not a crowd.
:)

On other days, i would meet up with JC and primary school friends when they ask me out. One of those few JC mates whom i'll meet up more often than the rest would be Yu Ning, Xin Jie and Tahir. As for Primary school friends, it would be Debbie and Kristin..

And of course my childhood friends! Meeting up can be quite difficult at times though, since we're all of a different age and our holiday breaks are all different...

Hmm, i think other than them, other friends are probably just random meet ups just because we've not since each other in ages or because of some special event...

So thankful for them!

And then what makes this holiday period different is that i decided to be more sociable. So the first step i took was to stop rejecting people if they ask me out. Haha. And second, was to be more spontaneous. Like, stop waiting for people to initiate, it's time for me to have some initiative too. Also, maybe try to accept impromptu meet ups. Usually i'd say i'm not free even though i'm at home, doing nothing. I don't really like last minute plans. :X But i'm more flexible now! Especially when my parents are more flexible too. Lol.

So tadah! I actually became closer to a few people like Rachel and Lester. Yeah i know...it's like i already know them beforehand and was already on speaking terms whatttt, what's the biggie? Haha, but the thing is we've become closer than just friends who would just exchange a few sentences. In the past we would hang out only because of group outings or because of common friends.. but now we would even plan meet ups that include one another. And then there's Carol who was officially introduced to me last year, but we only got to know each other better and bond together this vacation. Also made new friends like Zhi Xiong whom i didn't even exchanged a word with even though he's a secondary school mate.

Not bad, not bad.

I even went on an overseas trip. Not with school, not with family, but with friends. Though it's just Genting, but take baby steps la hor? Who knows, next time we may be able to go to BKK/Taiwan/Korea together!! Not to mention the kayaking trip, 7-course meal at Tao's, late night suppers etc. All those activities that i don't really engage in way before this vacation.

To think of it, i was such a bore. How can i stand being at home all the time?
Hahah.

School's going to start tomorrow. Hell's coming my way. Okay, i'm exaggerating. But i'm pretty sure Year 2 is going to be a tougher phase compared to what i've experienced in Year 1. This was confirmed when i was browsing through the details of my core modules.

Qian Ning ah Qian Ning, brace yourself for another semester~. Time to grow up and keep up with the increasing difficulty in studies.

December, i'll see you soon k! ✌
