First week of Year 2 + Jurong East Swimming Complex

Hello! So i was lazy to update on Sat. Did some studying and then watched some variety shows. I was at home practically doing nothing much. Only in the night when my friend texted me then i realised i still have a discussion forum to take part in and a screencast to watch.

By that time i was too lazy, and the next day i was heading out, and today's Mummy's birthday. Not a valid excuse though, cause now we're at home since she's feeling unwell. Poor Mummy. ): I could and should do the work now. But well....i'm still feeling lazy leh. Sianz. I really dislike doing subjects that doesn't have an exact answer. So it's not as simple as studying and then correctly answering the questions. Rah.

K, i'll try to do it after i type this post. Running away is definitely not a solution.

So anyway my first week of Year 2 is......well, mundane and slacky. Out of 5 days, i had a rest day. And then 3 of which i had only one 2hour long lecture each. And another was only a 2hr lecture plus a 1hr lecture. That's all. So i guess it was considered slacky. It was mundane because i really lost the i'm-new-here feeling. Not much excited kind of feeling but more like, oh-i'm-back-here kind of feeling. Omg, i'm a senior already? No longer a freshman. Wow, i really feel old now.

But all's well so far. Lecturers seems okay. And I made a new friend leh! Like randomly. Hahah. (see, i'm really improving on my social skills right?! :D) She's a freshman from FASS, we started talking cause she was attending the Genes and Society lecture alone. K la, i admit she started the conversation one. Lol, but i can totally feel she wanna talk cause she's alone, and i thought she probably wants to befriend so that at least she can have someone to attend lectures with. So I also made the effort to talk to her and even exchanged numbers. ^^

Met up with Rachel and Bear on Tuesday for lunch too! After that Rachel even drove me to Buona Vista Mrt! My first time sitting in her car, so cool~ Lol. Short period of time spent, but it made my day.
:)

And and and bg gave me his timetable and said we should meet up for lunch sometime. Hahah, no idea how are we gonna handle that when the times we meet up just to pass each other stuffs can be quite awkward already. But Australian attitude yo. Gotta master it soon. Lol.

Went to Jurong East Swimming Complex yesterday together with Zi Shen and his sister, Lester, Zhi Xiong, Wei Jin and Carol! I was damn indecisive, thinking whether to join or not to join, especially since Rachel couldn't join us. But aiya, i didn't really have any valid excuse not to go, and Zi Shen was saying there's so few people going... also, i'd have to admit the slides and all is really tempting to me. I love those. Lucky i managed to get Carol to come too! She came to pei me even though she didn't want to because she doesn't really like swimming. Aww, so nice right! Hehe.

Reached there at around 2plus and then we went to KFC to eat a bit. I happily took out the discount coupons, "EH, I HAVE COUPONS! *BIG SMILE :D*" Zi Shen's first reaction was like "Wa, typical Auntie sia." So sad already! Call me auntie.. What's wrong with that, can save money whattttt! Hahah. I know la i know la, i also admit i quite auntie...

Anyway it was drizzling when we reached! Lester was complaining that it's his fault again. Lolol. We had to comfort him that it's just pure coincidence. Anyway it stopped pretty soon, so in we go!! And this time the Auntie me pointed out...Child - Below 19 years old. "YES!!! I'm still a child! Eh, some of us can pay for Child ticket!!" Those above 19 were complaining like crazy. And then only the 3 young ones - Lester, Zi Shen and I were beaming, apparently happy that we were still 'oh-so-young'. Like Yay!-we-only-have-to-pay-$1-while-the-rest-has-to-pay-double-the-price. Hahaha. But i personally think that even if the rest bought child tickets it'll be fine. There wasn't anyone to check anyway...

We changed and put our bags into the lockers. Carol and i were like 2 blind mice without our spectacles. The queue for the floats was damn long because there's insufficient number of floats to go around. There was tons of people! A lot of indian/Bangladesh people. And they were always hanging out in big groups. Not being racist here, but they were really quite irritating in the sense that they die die have to stick together even if it means bumping into other people.
._.
So that's one bad thing about the affordable entrance fees.

I think we probably took an hour to queue for the floats lor. Managed to get 3 and had to share among ourselves. We tried almost all the facilities there. The lazy pool, the wave pool and the slides. Mainly just alternate between these 3. The guys kept asking us girls to sit on the float even though sometimes we just like waddling in the water. Lol.

Sometimes they damn evil though. Anyhow pull/push us on the float then hit other people. Us being on the float feel so paiseh and have to apologise so many times along the way. Lester and Wei Jin were saying no need to apologise one. Haiyo, but feel sorry ma, bump into people...And then the guys would purposely pull us to the spot where the water was splashing down and just stay there. And then they tried to scare me by constantly shaking the float lor. I thought they were just trying to scare me so i gave the i-dont-care-and-i'm-not-scared-look. Someone shouted that, "Qian Ning confirm knows how to swim one lor! Bluff us only!" Next thing i know, they really flipped me over!!!! I was damn shocked and i screamed before the water silenced me. Lol.

After that i kept declining to sit on the float. By that time we were at the wave pool and were at the pretty deep side. So i was struggling to stay afloat by holding the handle of the float. But the guys kept pestering me to sit on it and promised not to flip me again. It was so difficult to climb onto the float when you can't touch the ground, you know! I tried several times but either had no more strength left or got stuck in the hole. Lol. By then i was damn tired and out of breath and still unable to touch the ground. Excuse me, i really can't swim well, but the guys was ignorant about it and kept putting the transparent float over my head and ask me to climb up. Apparently i looked like i couldn't breathe and Zi Shen was laughingly commented why i looked like i can't breathe when they put the float over and took away the float for me. Thank god he did that. I seriously thought i was going to die trying to stay afloat. Took me awhile to get back onto the float, by struggling and stepping on Wei Jin's leg. Haha.

Thought i was safe already. BUT the guys still play play, and threatened to flip Carol and i over. Tsk. Poor Carol also had to suffer when she's scared of the water lor. I had to protect her by holding her hand and ask the guys to stop it especially when we were floating at the 1.5-1.6m area. "1.5m leh! Don't tell me your height not over 1.5m!" Woa, this kind of comment damn funny leh. We have to be somewhere that we can touch the ground AND with our head out of the water. Which means only 1.4m is safe for us. But i was too flustered to even explain that to them. I just went to joke that i actually wore high heel insoles. Hahah. Only Zhi Xiong damn nice lor! He was on our side, saying , "Eh, don't leh, later both of them will hit their heads" and stuffs like that. *thumbs up*

The slides was good too! Feel like a kid all over again. Hahah. Of course, it's not as fun as the past since the place looks smaller to me now (duh~) and the everything is familiar to me already. Unlike when i was young, the wave pool and the slides is all so new and exciting to me. Haha.

But still.... just like the lyrics of the song i'm listening to now on the radio while typing this

It's always a good time
Woah-oh-oh-oh Woah-oh-oh-oh
We don't even have to try, it's always a good time

With the right company, time spent together is always a good time.
:)

Water activities are super fun. Love them! Which is why i so so so want to invest in a waterproof camera! 我要! You see, we didn't even take a photo during this trip to the swimming complex. Imagine taking awesome water shots like this!

So cute and fun! 但是我没有钱.

After that, Zi Shen and his sis went separate ways with us. The rest of us took the MRT, where Lester dropped off at Jurong East to meet his friends in town, while the 4 of us left stood all the way till Kallang. Legs jelly jelly. Carol went home to have dinner while Wei Jin, Zhi Xiong and i went to find some place to eat. Walked a bit and finally decided to head to Geylang Lor 9 to eat the Beef Kway Teow. I think it was my first time there even though i live nearby. :x

$5 per plate. Filling and the beef is super duper soft, omg! Nice! Wanted oyster omelette but it was sold out? So we shared a plate of carrot cake too. Eat die me. They still left me such big portions of the carrot cake and i have to bargain with them to eat more. Lol. We had a pretty long heart to heart talk over dinner. Zhi Xiong not bad luh, another one who would find topic to talk about. I think he talked the most, knowing Wei Jin and I are more of the quieter side. Hahah.

Seeing that this is probably only my 3rd time hanging out with Zhi Xiong, and hanging out doesn't even mean we interact a lot anyway, it was surprising that it wasn't awkward at all! So i nodded in agreement when Zhi Xiong said, "Not bad, 我交了一个新朋友." *points at me*.

Lol. Well, it was fun. Especially when reminiscing the past. Secondary school days are really the best. But yeah yeah, i know we all gotta stop living in the past and live for today. One good way to treasure the past and yet live for today is to make the effort to maintain the friendships we have then. So only then would we reminisce the past together which makes the memories much more sweeter.

Really crossing my fingers that few years down the road, I'll still be as close as the bunch of people i am with today.
