I survived about a week without internet. Omg, you don't know how mundane it is to be at home without internet! I tried to keep myself busy with television progammes which are very limited and reading storybooks. Man, this is not how i picture my holidays to be! Anyway, the broadband connection is finally fine now. So really, i'm thankful for internet which is almost considered a necessity in my life. (never take things for granted)
So yep, besides all those mundane stuffs, on tuesday, after getting something from Macpherson, we went to visit my ahma! And we found her to be alone at home. ): Sigh, i guess it gets really lonely being old without anyone at home with you. Really sad for my ahma. Compared to my paternal grandparents, she really very poor thing. She suffers from senile dementia and has no company after my ahgong left us. Which was really way back, when i was only in nursery. And i really felt bad because we don't visit that often as compared to in the past. You know, the phase when everyone grows up and the visiting just gradually stops? In the past all of us, aunties, uncles, cousins would visit on a Sunday. Nowadays, probably only New Year. But for our family, it's not really much of the 'growing up' problem. Because frankly speaking, my siblings and i are those who would still go around with their parents wherever they go. Rare to see, but we're one of those more 'guai' kind i guess. Haha. I think it's more because my mum stopped working to become full-time housewife. When she was working, usually those off-days on Sunday would mean visit-ahma day. And when there's no longer 'off-days', somehow visit-ahma day became ambiguous. Not to mention, my ahma came to stay at our house several times for a short period of time. So i guess somehow along the way....the visiting becomes less frequent. And whenever we do visit her, she'll always look at us lovingly. You know, like just looking at us silently and smiling to herself. (but i'm fully aware which makes me feel kinda awkward because i don't know how i should respond or something) Then she'll start saying how we've grown so tall and tell me stories of my mother. Haha, yeah, it'll be the same old stories but i would always listen attentively and smile at her. That's respect but also the least i could do to make up the times i don't spend with her. Anyway i'm thankful my ahma's condition seems better when we visited her! :) Uncle came home after awhile, and then he started telling me his Buddhism stuffs. He actually went to Thailand to shave his hair and be a 'temporary' monk. Showed me pictures and all, and told me about different levels of heaven and stuffs. I was reading a magazine halfway and he gave me a binded book on hereafter(something like that) to read. Erm, frankly speaking, not really my cup of tea. But then again, to be respectful, i listened and nodded along.
Then on that night, my sister said she received an email from someone who saw a white cat with a purple collar at Ang Mo Kio. Ang Mo Kio is really far, but it's possible because Kitty sometimes likes to jump onto lorries and might have been driven away. Otherwise, someone kidnapped Kitty to keep as a pet but decided to dump her. It was at night like about 8-9plus? Daddy said wanna drive there to take a look and all of us, except sissy, went along with the hope that we can find her. AND WE DID! WE ACTUALLY DID! Okay, here's the full story...
First we all got down and started searching separately. Then i received a call from daddy saying he found a cat which looks like Kitty yet don't look like her at the same time. I ran over with the food and spotted the cat in the hiding in drain, looking really scared. Then i look at its face. It has Kitty's large round eyes. Right, i know all cats have large round eyes... But it's of similar color! And the two dots near her eyes! And her long tail! It has to be her right?! The cat has a collar but we couldn't see the colour properly because of her fur, and we really didn't want to startle her anymore so we didn't grab her to check. She seems slimmer which made me think she was starved for days. ): And because it had been raining these few days, she's damp and dirty. So dirty till she's kinda yellow in colour. And her whiskers were in this haywire zigzag manner! She really suffered a lot. ): We finally managed to get her into the cage and happily brought her home. I set the cage on my lap and kept talking to her on the way back. I kind of teared. She meowed only a few times which my dad interpreted it as being able to recognize us and is complaining to us how she had suffered.
So apparently, my dad is more naive than i think. He seriously thought Kitty is happy and can recognise her home straight away. All of us had doubts because, firstly, she looked so shaken! Surely time should be given to her to warm up to the place where she's placed in? Secondly, when she was young, my dad's friend chose her out of the 3 to keep as his pet (i expected that he'll chose her because she's so pretty but i still cried) but we got her back 2 weeks later as he wanted to declaw her, which we refused to let him do it. And they fought among themselves! Thunder and Lightning couldn't recognize Kitty! That made me doubt their ability of their memory. So we had the plans of just allowing the rest of the cats to see Kitty without letting her out of the cage, familiarize with each other, and perhaps let Kitty out when we bring her into the house so no matter where she run to, she'll still be in the house. And of course, to bathe her.
BUT.
My dad let Kitty out before any of us could react, and before we know it, Kitty being so scared ran away as fast as she could. And we lost her. Again. We searched and searched, till midnight yet couldn't find her. Either she's hiding or lost again. We're still searching now. But no news. Now my parents have this doubt that it's not Kitty that we brought home. Because if it's her, surely she would recognize this place which she live in for months? Unless she's really distressed right now. Like a kisiao cat. ):
There's so many stray cats around here, and pretty fierce at that. I'm afraid she'll get injured from fighting with them. I really just hope she'll appear again soon. Then i'll give her a clean bath to regain her pretty, fluffy look and she'll reunite with the rest. Happily ever after.

Kitty, come home soon k!
