Omg, haven't been blogging in agesssss. My last post was in Jan and it's already March now!! February was very much of a hectic month for me. Can't believe I still took on a part-time job even though I had dissertation, which very much drained my energy and brain cells. But I must say, I juggled my time pretty well? I was dying, but no, I didn't give up even when the going gets tough,. Because tough times don't last, tough people do. And I survived. Hehehe.

 

First thing first, DISSERTATION IS FREAKING O-V-E-R. OVER!!!! *throws confetti, pops champagne*

 

It was hell, trying to run regressions and making sense of the data results. Crapped my way through half of the time. Have been meeting my professor every now and then I think he got sick of seeing me. But he's still so nice to arrange appointments with me without mia-ing. Plus he really helped me a lot, telling me what to do and explaining to me patiently when I asked stupid questions. And he always try to say something encouraging like "This part looks good, but perhaps...." Sooooo thankful for him! The most I did was only to constantly update him my progress. And he told me he's staying in Singapore (he's a non-Singaporean) for this CNY and that he doesn't have anyone to celebrate with. So poor thing! Thus, I offered him a box of CNYgoodies before CNY. That's not bribing right? Haha. But it was nice to see his face lit up from the small gesture.

Work wise, was pretty busy with so many customers, especially on the weekend. There was a time there were so many things to do but I could not really catch up and the lady boss got kinda pekcek with me? Her tone literally changed! Like super omg, and it affected me a lot because I felt like i'm doing my best but my efforts are not appreciated. How can I serve the food & drinks, wash the dishes and clear the tables all at one go? Lester asked me to quit la, because I was becoming stressed with work and dissertation, but I didn't want to. Because part of me wants to prove that I can do it? Anyway, after that day the bosses became nicer to me because they probably realized I'm a little too fragile and sensitive. Hahaha. Plus after I bai nian to them during the cny period they seem to see me in the different light than before? I don't know for sure, but it felt like there's a change. A positive one.

And CNY this year just doesn't have much atmosphere to it. On Chu Xi Daddy was so unreasonable that it really spoiled my day. Especially hated the fact that he didn't respect me. I only wanted to get my laptop from home (10mins walk) so I can do my dissertation at grandma's place and it was only 5pm? While on my way home, he called me and demanded me to head back to grandma's house. And the table was already full of people but he shouted at me (i'm an adult already please?) in front of everyone else, asking me to squeeze in. Because he was so damn unreasonable and I was easily hurt, I ate dinner while tearing. Like damn paiseh but I couldn't control. Everyone else was taking food for me and all while I ate in silence. Damn sucky. Doesn't he know how to say things properly? Like I feel good having to work on my dissertation on CNY period?!? Am I not stressed enough?!

Sigh. Anyway, things only got better from there.

Alright, first back track to the days before CNY...

Went to attend Tahir's musical performance at Lasalle on a Friday night! Rushed there after having a quick dinner right after school ends. Lester came along too. Lol.

Having good coffee while at work is one of the perks!

Home made lunch made by a colleague. Yums.

CNY atmosphere dulled at relatives' side, but it was made up for due to additional places like going Wj's and Lester's house to bai nian.

 

Sis and I accompanied Grandma to the NTUC to buy from groceries and she bought us ice cream. Hehe, like a kid who never grows up.

Had 盆菜 and 鱼生, then they gambled while I just sat around looking at them play. After that headed to Lester's house to bai nian.

初三 went to 大姑and 二姑's house respectively. I brought my laptop along and spent the whole day working on my dissertation. Zzzzz. On 初四, we went to 小姑's house to lo hei.

Then went to Uncle Vincent's house to bai nian, then to the temple, then to a restaurant to celebrate dad's friend's brother's birthday.

Cycled to Wimbly Lu on one of the nights and had their waffles! Not bad eh! It was late but still bustling with people.

Then on 人日, I walked to grandma's place after work and had dinner over there! Lo Hei again with grandparents, family and 叔叔's family.

Also celebrated Wj's belated birthday on the 27th at Twochefs. Coincidentally met Kevin there as well. Hahah, he was having dinner and 鱼生 with his big group of friends.

Haha I have no idea what's the correct explanation to it. But I see it as blue and black.

Oh ya, damn sad I couldn't attend Chinky's wedding in GM even though he invited me. Asked for a leave but they couldn't grant me as there's was a lack of staff on that day. Apparently a girl had make up classes in the morning. But then on that day itself she came earlier than her assigned shift because her class got cancelled. Whatttttt. Sian. But I couldn't do anything because it was too late for anything to be done. Happy for Chinky nonetheless!

Submitted my dissertation on 2nd March and done with Korean Mid Terms! Currently lesser stuffs on my plate with just some small assignments and projects to do. Finally, I'm able to watch my Korean shows (and update this space) So happy!

And Kat just told me she'll be delivering soon! Yay, can't wait to see the baby girl!
