Another year older.

Super busy but I still found time to enjoy myself. Hahaha, pro or what?

So anyway, as the usual unlucky me, I had a test on my birthday. But still thankful on so many levels.

Firstly, I had a mini surprise during midnight after I was done studying. Just a simple one, with a slice of cake, a whispering version of "Happy Birthday" and a longer letter (I requested it) but those little efforts definitely put a big smile on my face.

Secondly, Sissy gave me $100 angbao leh! Said cause she didn't get me any 21st present anyway. Haha, still very touched after seeing a random angbao and a sweet note asking to pamper myself on my study table when it struck 12am.

Then the test was from 10-12pm, so I made a date with my cousin and sister to rock climb! I wanted to go climbing since ages ago but couldn't find the time or opportunity to do so. Don't really know how it works as there's a need for harness, a person to help you belay etc and I have never tried rock climbing at my own leisure apart from those organized by schools. But similar to the kayaking trip I organized with my own friends few years ago, it's exceptionally fun to do it outside of school!

Of course it made a lot of things easier because my cousin is a rock climbing instructor at Climb Asia. Hehe. I had free entry cause it was my birthday. She had two harnesses of her own, and I could even share climbing shoes with her. (Although in the end I rented my own shoes.) Haha. Saved a lot of expenses. Rock Climbing is definitely a pretty pricy sport. But it's quite worth it to go during a non-peak period! Plus a fee is charged per entry and not by hour.

The rates!
:)

The rented shoes. Just realized I was decked in red and black. Even my harness was red & black. Lol

Sister climbed first while I munched on a subway sandwich for lunch. She got so scared lo! Fear of heights. Hahaha. But her body is super long. I think the amount of effort I have to put in is double of hers.

 My turn my turn!

I warmed up by stretching a lot. Cousin said I look like I was preparing for a competition. Hahahah! I learnt my lesson ma. The previous time I climbed during Odac days, I remembered having aching arms and legs because I didn't stretched beforehand!

Climbed non-stop.

 Hehe, being belayed down.

After that we tried the new automatic belay system!

There isn't a need for someone to belay you, just get attached to the rope will do!

Cousin attaching sissy to the rope.

 Climb climb.

This is slightly scarier as the speed of coming down is according to your weight. And it doesn't stop. But after letting yourself go, it doesn't feel that bad. The first step is always the scariest.

 I tried.

And zoomed down so fast that I ended up sitting on the ground. Haha.

 And again. Hahaha!

 Unglam much. But fun!

Rested for awhile hence the spam of photos. Haha. After that we headed to the boulder where Joey taught us simple techniques of climbing. Returned to the wall but there were climbing classes for little angmoh kids. So we ended up climbing the walls which were more difficult to climb due to the angle.

Doesn't help that my arms were aching quite badly already. Whole palms were red too. Actually my toes was painful too. Hahaha, should have cut my nails short short.

Then we returned to the easier walls to take nicer pictures instead of candid ones!

Climbing up. See my cousin's phone attached to my harness! Hahaha.

Anyway I was too engrossed in climbing that I climbed all the way up, forgetting to stop mid way to pose. Hahaha.

Selfie! Quite scary to detach the huge phone and to take using one (small) hand uh.

Hahaha, ultimate way of camwhoring.

 Posed while coming down.

 Sis's turn!

 :)

Took a picture of the exterior of the building so I can remember how it looks like if i'm coming again!

Took bus home, showered and then headed out with the family (plus cousin) for dinner at Ubin Kitchen at Joo Chiat. Damn ex but the crab was delicious! The flesh very soft and fresh! After that we even headed to Teoheng for an impromptu 2hr singing session.

Sent cousin home and we reached home pretty late. Midnight? But they still sang and cut cake for me..

Super yummy chocolate cake from four leaves.

Making a super long wish. Then my dad was like, "A wish only leh. ONE wish!"
Hahahah.

A happy and blessed girl.
^^

Off my fb birthday alert this year because I was lazy to respond to people's wishes. But i'm pretty surprised some of my JC friends like Kevin and Wingyi (Tahir wished me after seeing my instagram i think, haha) still remembered and texted me their wishes. Including uni friends, raihana & xinyu, plus the usual close secondary school friends like eeleng (hehe, always on the dot!), wj, kat, abie, eelin and dora. Carol too!
:))
